The Economics of Cloud

Paul Serrano, Chief Evangelist APJ, Nutanix

Agility, resilience, Innovation, time to market, competitive advantage and more make cloud a “no brainer”.  In fact, over 70 percent of all enterprises are already using cloud in varying degrees.  But, is cloud cheaper?  And if so, which cloud(s) and what services and which applications at what level of scale?  What experiences and which TCO/ROI tools can help me make the best “which cloud” decisions?  This session will detail real world cloud costs across a variety of environments, their TCO outcomes and recommendations.

10:00 am – 10:30 am

Edge – Better Business for a Better World

Duncan Tan, Senior Research Manager, IDC

Edge computing is no longer conceptual, there are hundreds of early use cases that are in practice today across a wide range of vertical markets.  The need for real time decision making directly impacts health, safety, productivity, travel, transactions, and more for individuals and businesses. New levels of analytics at the sensor, device, and touch point will offer unprecedented levels of service, accuracy and delight.  This evolution has been driven by the continued desire to make each of our lives better, along with technology which can support the unique types of demands required to fulfill its destiny.   This session will detail some of the existing use cases at the edge, the challenges and the opportunities.

Transformation Through Leadership with Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad

Moderated by Melisa Idris - Anchor & Senior Editor at Astro AWANI

Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad was recognised as the oldest world leader when he was sworn in as Malaysia's 7th Prime Minister in 2018 at the age of 92. He had previously held the post as the 4th Prime Minister of Malaysia from 1981 to 2003 where he served the country for 22 years, becoming Malaysia’s and South-East Asia’s longest-serving Prime Minister.

During his first tenure as Prime Minister, Malaysia experienced a period of rapid modernisation and economic growth. Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad had transformed Malaysia from an agriculture based economy into the higher-earning industrial sector. He also transformed Malaysia's standing on the global stage through large ambitious infrastructure projects such as the now iconic Petronas Twin Tower, the Sepang International Circuit and the Kuala Lumpur International Airport that brought international recognition for the country.

Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad will share his experiences and views on how governments, societies and individuals can lead transformation and changes to adapt and thrive in these tumultuous times.
